Virtual Video Game Summit 2020

Chicago, Illinois – (May 11th, 2020) – Remember how much fun you used to have playing Atari, Nintendo and all kinds of games on your computer? Well, you will have the rare opportunity to play these great games again at the Video Game Summit, Chicago’s premier video game trade show. In fact, several dealers in retro games will be on hand offering games, controllers, systems and memorabilia and will be prepared to buy or trade for the games you have held onto since you were a kid. Who knows, you might just have an Atari cartridge worth $1000 or more collecting dust in your attic.

“Retrogaming,” the playing and collecting of classic video games, is more popular than ever, especially due to next generation systems having “classic” game collections such as Intellivision Lives or a download service such as Nintendo Wii’s Shop Channel where you can buy classic games for systems such has Nintendo Entertainment System and Commodore 64.  In fact, a dedicated group of programmers still issues new games for retro game systems, such as the Atari 2600, last seen in retail stores over 30 years ago.

Due To Covid 19 and other show issues we canceled our physical show that was going to at the Odeum in July.
We felt that with lack of actual shows going on due to pandemic something is needed to keep the community going and while Midwest Gaming Classic and Galloping Ghost been doing updates on Facebook Live. The staff at VGS wanted to do something special for the gaming community and we decide to do what talk shows and SNL been doing and make a virtual event.
And we came up with Virtual Video Game Summit (V-VGS) the plan was one day but one day wouldn’t be good so we went two days. those days are July 11th and 12th (11th 11am till 4pm 12th Noon till 5pm)
it will be on Facebook Live and on Zoom Meetings (Zoom Meetings will feature break rooms for vendors and guest as wellas the main room) Admission is Free Registration for zoom is done via Eventbrite only Facebook live no registration needed.
Break out rooms will be used like booths for vendors where people can purchase or talk to vendors or have panels for guest or even some live game playing, at occasions the main room will feature either gameplay or open panel with one of the guest.
